Services for Customers

Journals

This services is aimed at supplying our customers with all journals and serial publications in printed, electronic or magnetic format, microfilm or microfiche.
Thanks to a sophisticated software, orders are processed daily so is the payment to the publishers. Our order processing system allows us to check the order from when it is placed until the publication is delivered to the customer along with relevant invoice.
A consolidation system for American journals is active in the United States. Shipments are by airmail so that we offer a faster delivery service to our customers.
Customers’ claims are handled within 48 hours.
DEA SpA offers three different subscription services:
  • Direct delivery from publishers to customers. In order to check the regular arrival of issues we send, upon customer’s request, a printed report every three months containing the list of subscriptions ordered. This report is structured in a way that the customer can return it to us with indications of what is still undelivered. Once returned to us, we forward it to publishers to claim what is missing.
  • safe & speedy delivery, from DEA SpA to customers. DEA SpA will monitor deliveries from publishers and will consign them to customers through our staff. Issues are consigned on a weekly basis, twice a week or according to customers’ needs. A powerful software notifies us delivery problems for each single issue so that we can immediately and automatically claim missing issues to publishers.
  • Analytical delivery notes for goods shipped all over Italy through our distribution network allow the customer to check on regular deliveries.
  • safe & speedy OnLine presents the same features of the service described above with the addition of an online option to check deliveries, forward a claim, send a quotation request or send a renewal order from one’s office desk.
  • All in One Service, a special service that include in the same price solution:
  • Subscription to journals
  • Journal’s issues delivered directly from DEA offices to the Library, through a consolidated shipping service
  • DEAOnline service, to follow 24 hours a day, 7 days per week, all your orders, the issue delivery, to know bibliographic details about a journal, to claim for missing issues, to have records of outstanding or paid invoices, to renew your subscriptions online.
  • TDnet, offered free of charge for the “All in One” customers, that allows a unique access point to all the online journals subscribed by the Library.
  • The TDNet service differs from any traditional aggregation software as it is customizable, is to say that can be configured with only the titles to which library has subscribed, and can be linked to the library’s OPAC.
We wish to remember that most of the softwares allow users to access a big amount of periodical publications pre-defined on the basis of the agreements with Publishers, and to select among the list, the preferred titles, but it’s not possible to add new titles: in this way the pre-defined portfolio is unchangeable and cannot be customized.
